Cetra Records has been in gradual evolution for decades, its first seed planted over 50 years ago, and its first sounds surfacing in the early 2000s. Cetra is a record label and publisher that is on a mission to record, preserve and promote the cittern and its music.

Our Mission
Cetra Records was born from a passion for the cittern as an important piece of cultural heritage. Our mission is to record, preserve and promote the cittern and its music. We are formal, yes. However, we also aim to embody the sprightly and cheerful nature of cittern music in our music and messaging. While Cetra Records pulls from timeless classical tones that could be identified centuries ago, it also celebrates an openness and freedom inspired by the 1960s.
