Eduardo Soares

Musician, researcher and teacher, Eduardo holds degrees from the Conservatório Superior de Música de Castilla y León, and the University of Porto (History), a master's degree in Music teaching from the University of Minho, and a PhD in Cultural Sciences from the same institution.

Interested in musical expression as a form of intervention, Eduardo seeks to combine his work with different forms of art such as literature, painting, dance and theater. In this way, he has collaborated as an interpreter or creator in several artistic projects, workshops and interdisciplinary productions in Australia, Belgium, Spain, India, Italy, France, Portugal, Ukraine, Uruguay, and the United States of America.

He has played with the Remix Ensemble (Casa da Música) under the direction of Peter Rundel; with the Ukho Ensemble (Kiev) directed by Luigi Gaggero; as a soloist with the Taller de Música Contemporânea de Salamanca with maestro Zsolt Nagy; and has performed in the opera Daughters staged by Anuradha Kapoor (India). 


He has recorded the album Poente – a collection of 9 original pieces for guitar; Quadros para Paredes, a work for classical guitar around the work of Carlos Paredes; and Pas Perdu, dedicated to the work of Stefano Gervasoni.
